Hi there, Terry!
It isn't every day that I get to speak to a real-life fairy grandparent like you! What a wonderful gift you are giving your grandchildren! There truly is nothing more precious than quality time and special memories made with your loved ones.
Terry, if you are looking for the tear-jerking 50th anniversary commercial for Walt Disney World Resort, you can find that on the main home page of the website. Just click
“Watch Video” below the main menu.
You can also check out plenty of other videos on YouTube. If your grandkids are anything like mine, they love to watch very specific kids on YouTube. My son has never been so excited to watch someone else go to Disney than he was watching his favorite TV-kid, Ryan, go to
Toy Story Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
I also love the idea of packing a little Disney-bag for kids. You can include things like a
MagicBand, T-Shirt, or special toy to bring with them on their new adventure.
Speaking of YouTube, it can be a GREAT resource for kids who are a little unsure of what to expect for their first trip. I like to show my kids any “dark” or “potentially “scary” rides. My kids feel more confident when they know what is coming, and it gives them the power to decide if they want to try something new.
My oldest was so afraid of
The Haunted Mansion until he saw a video of it online, now it is his favorite! No matter how many times I show him the video of
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, he insists he wants to ride it. We then generally exit the line about half-way through, so it is not a foolproof method.
I hope that this helped, Terry!
See you real soon!
