Going to VGF in aug and would like to request a room with a view of the magic Kingdom, have a 1 bedroom lake view reservation?

    Hi James!

The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa are a great choice for your August vacation. With a simple elegance and nods to classic Disney films such as Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland and Dumbo, the decor at this resort is one of my favorites.  Be sure to check out the penguin fountain in the lobby if anyone in your group is a Mary Poppins fan.

While lake view rooms at the resort do have a beautiful view of the Seven Seas Lagoon, the angle and location of the building is such that most of the views are not of the theme park. Most rooms on the lake side of the building instead face Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. This is why theme park view is not offered as a booking category. I looked at some actual photos from lake view rooms on the TouringPlans.com website which I have a subscription to, and indeed this is what the site confirmed. From what I can tell, the only rooms that might have a partial view of Magic Kingdom would be rooms on the southern wing of the resort, closest to the Wedding Pavilion. I would think that a higher floor would give you a better view. There is only a single 1 Bedroom Villa on each floor that faces that direction in that wing.

To make a room request, it is best to make that request with your original reservation. Go back to who you booked the reservation with, such as a travel agent, Disney Central Reservations or Disney Vacation Club Member Services, and ask them to add your request. While Cast Members will do their very best to match you with your preferred room, room requests are not guaranteed.

Sending you pixie dust for a partial theme park view!
