Hi, Diane! Thanks for bringing another great question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
My husband and I just had the vegan "Fish" and Chips at Epcot's
Rose & Crown Dining Room a couple of weeks ago, and we were VERY impressed--they even had vegan tartar sauce! We, too, only heard about this option through word of mouth and asked our waitress about availability as soon as we sat down. She said the vegan Bangers and Mash dish was available, too, but we just chose to share the Fish and Chips. They can also make a vegan version of the Masala Curry! Our waitress mentioned that they're working on adding the vegan options to the official menu, but as for now those options are by request only.
Please note that the vegan "fish" and chips dish is currently only available at the Rose & Crown Dining Room--not at the Yorkshire County Fish Shop next door.
There are vegan/ plant-based options at most
Walt Disney World Resort restaurants now. Some restaurants such as
Gasparilla Island Grill at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa and
California Grill at Disney's Contemporary Resort even offer entire vegan menus by request! Additionally, there are new vegan quick service options in the Theme Parks including the Plant-based Sloppy Joe at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe or Plant-based Dog (loaded or plain) at Casey's Corner and the "Totchos" at Woody's Lunch Box!
If you need any additional information, you can always contact Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com at least 14 days before your arrival.
Enjoy your vegan feast!
Amy
