Hi, Jennifer! The good news is that it's definitely possible to find vegan dining options at Walt Disney World, but it does take some planning. I would suggest dining at a
table-service restaurant for dinner.
The reason is this: you can note your special dietary needs in advance (when you make your reservation) and the chefs at the table-service restaurants will try to accommodate you to the best of their ability. You may also want to call ahead to the restaurant 72 hours prior to your reservation to speak with a chef to discuss specific options.
While it's possible to find vegan options at
counter-service restaurants, some locations can be more challenging than others. For example, Tortuga Tavern in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom offers a hearty cilantro rice and black bean Vegetarian Burrito and there is also a salad bar. Other counter-service restaurants, unfortunately, will not have any vegan options.
You can make
Advanced Dining Reservations (ADRs) for Table-Service ("sit-down") restaurants up to 180 days prior to your stay. Since the more popular restaurants fill up quickly, you'll want to check out the menus online to start narrowing down your choices and make your ADRs as soon as possible.
A great website to view all the table-service and counter-service restaurant menus is
Allears.net. You'll also find a very helpful section on the Allears site entitled "Special Dietary Needs" which includes detailed information and strategies on
Vegetarian/Vegan Dining at Walt Disney World. There is specific information on vegan options at the counter-service and table-service locations in the four theme parks and at the resort hotels.
I hope this helps! Don't hesitate to write back with any other vegan dining questions.
