Our vaction is Oct 5-9. We are driving overnight to allow DS whos 1 to sleep in the car. We want to visit all 4 parks + the beach. Which park would be better after a long night drive on the 5th for 2 adults & two kids- 15 & 1. My husbands a first t

Hi, Jessica!  I am a veteran of many overnight car trips to Walt Disney World!  We actually do much better this way, as we don't have to make as many potty stops we do when the kids are awake!

Which park you go to is going to depend on you guys.  For me, the easiest park to go to on a day when you are likely to be tired is Disney's Animal Kingdom.  My family can do pretty much everything we want to see in one day, and it's the one park where we can usually count on being back at our resort for an early bedtime.  I never feel like I have to rush from one thing to the next, and I enjoy wandering Pangani Trail or doing the Maharajah Jungle Trek and admiring the animals.  It feels like a much more leisurely pace to me.

On the other hand, diving right into the Magic Kingdom can really get your adrenaline pumping!  This is my favorite of the theme parks, and no matter how tired I am when we get there, just walking down Main Street, USA has a tendency to act as a pick me up!  Once I'm there, I can go until the park closes.  There's so much to see and so much to do, you don't really think about being tired.

So, depending on which way you think your family might go, I'd do either of these two parks on your first day after a long trip.  Oh, and one last tip.  It really helps me to have headphones on when sleeping in the car.  It helps deaden some of the road noises, and makes it easier for me to get a few hours of shut eye in between driving shifts.

    Enjoy your vacation!
