Hello! Vacationing this May 2025 and wondering the best transportation route from Wilderness Lodge to Jambo House to make an 8:30am or 9am Cape Boma Cafe Breakfast. Thanks!

Hi Elena, and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney! Boma is one of my favorite meals at Disney World, and the perfect way to fuel up before a day in the theme parks. I love the mix of African and American foods, and the buffet makes it easy to try a little of everything! If they have the French Toast Bread Pudding when you’re there, that’s one of my must-haves!

The most direct way to get from Wilderness Lodge to Animal Kingdom Lodge would be to take a Minnie Van or rideshare service.

For an option using the complimentary Disney transportation, you could take the bus from Wilderness Lodge to Magic Kingdom, then take the bus from there to Animal Kingdom Lodge. Keep in mind that the bus to Animal Kingdom Lodge usually stops at Kidani Village first and then Jambo House. So make sure you get off at the right stop! There’s also a boat between Wilderness Lodge and Magic Kingdom, but I’d recommend taking the bus since that will drop you off closer to the Animal Kingdom Lodge bus.

In early May, the buses to Magic Kingdom are currently scheduled to start running at 7:30 A.M., one hour before Early Theme Park Entry begins. If you go this route, I’d recommend getting to the bus stop at Wilderness Lodge before 7:30 A.M. to try and get on the first bus to Magic Kingdom. It’ll likely be tight getting to Animal Kingdom Lodge for an 8:30 A.M. reservation, so 9:00 A.M. is the earliest I’d book a reservation to ensure you’ll have plenty of time for the journey.

If you get to Animal Kingdom Lodge early, you can always go to the overlook where you can see the animals on the savanna. I could sit and watch them for hours! This resort is also home to the largest private collection of African art outside of Africa, so there will be lots to see when you’re there! On some days, there’s even a Jambo House Lobby Art Tour where you can learn more about these unique pieces. It typically happens in the morning, so check the resort activity schedule in the lobby or ask the front desk to see if it coincides with your visit.

I hope you have a delicious meal at Boma! And if you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to visit us again at planDisney.
