Hiya, Jonathan! We are happy to have a chance to help you with this question.
Visiting
Walt Disney World with elderly parents doesn't have to be a logistical challenge. Rest assured that once they get to any of the
theme parks, Walt Disney World will have some type of
transportation that can take your parents and their scooters wherever they'd like to go on property. It's a short bus, boat, or monorail ride to any of the parks or resorts.
When staying at Buena Vista Palace in the
Disney Springs area, they run their own shuttles. The shuttles are accessible, and according to the resort front desk, they can accommodate scooters. The buses from the resort depart every 30 minutes until noon, and then every 60 minutes until 6 PM. After 6 PM, the shuttles will run every 30 minutes again until about 90 minutes after the parks close.
You can catch the shuttle on the first floor, next to the courtyard. When you want to return, each park has a designated pick-up location, and you can ask your driver if you need help to make sure you get to the right shuttle coming back.
They currently do not run a shuttle to Disney Springs. The walk to Disney Springs is under 10 minutes, and there is a pedestrian bridge to make it safer to cross the road. The bridge is accessible via elevator, but your parents may have to go up one at a time.
I hope this helps with your planning, Jonathan!
