Welcome Home, Jay!
As a fellow
Disney Vacation Club Member, I too ended up with a lot of points to use this year due to canceled vacations and banked points. While in 12 years as Members I have never had a
Vacation Point go to waste, the Covid-19 pandemic caught me and I did lose 4 Vacation Points. My streak, sadly, has been broken! We are excited to use some of our banked points from our canceled pandemic trip last year to treat some friends to their first-ever Walt Disney World visit this summer.
Vacation Points must be used to travel by the last day of their Use Year, or they may be banked one, and only one, year into the future. The end of the Use Year is the last day for travel, not the last day for booking.
What this means for you is that your 2019 Vacation Points that were banked into your 2020 Use Year must be completely used to book
and travel no later than July 31, 2021. This means that July 31 is the last day you may stay in a room booked using those points. You cannot wait until July 31 and then book a vacation for September.
There is still availability for many Disney Vacation Club Resorts this spring and summer! If you are looking for quick inspiration, check out the
Last Minute Getaways page on the Disney Vacation Club Website to view availability over the next 60 days at a glance. I hope this helps to answer your question, Jay, and I hope you can find a way to use your Vacation Points before the end of your Use Year. I know many of us could use a dose of Disney magic after the past year.
Wishing you
Membership Magic,
- Kate
