Welcome to planDisney, Jovana! I'm thrilled that you booked a stay at
Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. The lobby's Arts & Crafts design style is carried into the guest rooms, which received a bright and airy refresh a few years ago (see if you can spot Chip 'n' Dale hanging out). Plus, you'll love the convenience of the private entrance into
Disney California Adventure Park. Being able to hop back over to the hotel for a nap or a swim break in the Redwood Pool is a game changer!
Extra Magic Hour (EMH) is one of my favorite perks of staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel. It's a fantastic way to start the day early before it gets busy and ride popular attractions before the park is officially open. When I spoke with Guest Services today, the Cast Member confirmed that EMH will be returning sometime this summer, but the official date has not been disclosed. Let's keep our fingers AND toes crossed that an announcement happens quickly! I suggest keeping an eye on the homepage of the Disneyland website and the
Disneyland Parks Blog for the most current information (one thing to keep in mind is that Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will not be available as part of Extra Magic Hour).
Since you're planning to see all the nighttime shows, consider splurging on a dessert party or dining package. We did this for
World of Color and Paint the Night several years ago, and the upgraded viewing areas made a big difference. You can book your reservations now through the Disneyland website.
The Plaza Inn Lunch Package is a popular one, which comes with reserved viewing for the nighttime Main Street Electrical Parade.
Fantasmic! is set to return in a few weeks and will have its own delicious down-home dinner package at River Belle Terrace. You really can't go wrong with any of them!
We hope you have a magical vacation, Jovana! Stop back and see us again real soon!
