I have a vacation planned in December, and I was planning on proposing to my girlfriend. I would like to do it in front of Cinderella's castle. Do you have any tips for making sure I can get pictures of the moment?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Chris!

I can’t think of a better place to “pop the question” than at The Most Magical Place on Earth. And during the holidays? That’s even more Magical! When you arrive at Magic Kingdom Park, you’ll see lots of Disney PhotoPass Service photographers stationed at various points along Main Street, U.S.A. leading up to Cinderella Castle. The last of them is typically stationed right in front of the “Partners” statue (of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse) at the central hub in front of the Castle. I think that will probably be your best location for this Magical moment.

It’ll take a little sneakiness on your part, but I think you can make it work. Make sure you’re carrying whatever bags you and your girlfriend have with you. When it’s your turn to take your photos, have your girlfriend go ahead and get in position in front of the camera and as you’re setting down your bags near the camera’s tripod just give the photographer the heads-up that you’re planning something special. They’ll be ready! Not only will they be able to capture the actual proposal, but they’ll take a few extra shots of the two of you together after she says “yes!” You can also ask them to take some extra special photos of your hands together showing off the ring with the Castle in the background, too.

To keep all of the photos of your extra Magical vacation, make sure you purchase your Memory Maker in advance of your visit. After the photographer scans your MagicBand or Disney PhotoPass card, your photos will appear in your My Disney Experience mobile app typically within an hour or so. Sharing those photos with friends and family is as easy as tapping the “Share” button underneath each picture. You can also tap the “Buy Photo Gifts” button to make mugs, ornaments, magnets and more as keepsakes of this special moment in your lives.

Good luck, Chris! Please let us know if there are any other questions we can answer for you as you plan your Magical vacation.
