Hi, I have a vacation package that will be paid in full before I arrive. What will be required of me when I check-in? Will I need to present a debit card and/or credit card? If so, how much will be held on that card, if any, for incidentals etc.? Thank yo

Hi Sydney and welcome to planDisney! I’m so excited to hear about your upcoming vacation! It sounds like you have all your ducks in a row, Donald will be so proud!

When you check into your Disney Resort hotel at the beginning of your magical vacation, a Cast Member will ask you for a credit or debit card for incidentals. It would cover any purchases you might make with your MagicBand during your adventures at the theme parks, along with any room service charges. If you do decide to present a card for incidentals, there will be a hold of $100 placed on your card. It’s always a good idea to check with a Cast Member at the Front Desk to verify that amount.

If you don’t make any charges, you should not have any more than the $100 hold on that card. For a closer look at the credit card policies, I suggest visiting the Payment Card Policy page on the Walt Disney World Resort website.

Sydney, I have used Disney Gift Cards to cover charges on my account many times over the years. You can always visit the Front Desk before you check out, to pay for any charges with a gift card.

You still have a few months before your visit, so keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for a look at the new adventures you can enjoy during your vacation. It’s a great place to keep up with all the new experiences and activities at Disney theme parks!

I hope I’ve been helpful. Don’t hesitate to come back to see us if you have any more questions. You can also follow us on Instragram to keep up with the planDisney family’s adventures at the theme parks.

    Have a wonderful visit!
