Your question is an excellent one and I had to do a bit of research to get you an accurate answer. Based on my chat with a Cast Member,
upgrading your ticket to an Annual Pass does pose the risk of losing pre-scheduled
Lightning Lane Pass return times. They indicated that the purchase will still be reflected on your
My Disney Experience Mobile App, but you may need to go back in and schedule your selections again after completing the ticket upgrade.
I see that your visit is not until next summer, so things can certainly change between now and then. I recommend grabbing a screenshot of the return times associated with your purchase and having those handy in case you need assistance in rescheduling. I can't guarantee that Cast Members will be able to get you back into those same time slots, but it doesn't hurt to ask for assistance from the
Guest Experience Team once you enter the parks.
Annual Passholders enjoy
discounts on select food & merchandise, so you'll want to upgrade your ticket early to take advantage of those offers during your visit. On the other hand, if your return times are a top priority, you might want to wait until later in your visit to complete the upgrade so it won't interfere with your plans.
