usually get the dining plan when we travel to disney. next year considering using disney gift cards that my husband gets through work to pay for food to help cut down on the cost of a trip. Family of 4. what are anyone's feeling about no dining plan.

Hi there Kristin! Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!  As a mom of four children, I completely understand your concern and think you have a great idea to use DIsney Gift Cards for your dining expenses. My family has purchased the Disney DIning Plan on past vacations, but we have also visited many times without purchasing the Disney DIning Plan.  Although I do love the flexibility and value the Disney Dining Plan offers, I have found it to be a better value for my children, especially when I am trying to cut back on eating dessert and snacks. I almost feel that I need to eat the dessert that comes with my meal knowing that I paid for it. I honestly believe you will still enjoy dining at all of the Walt Disney World restaurants; however, you may find that you choose to order differently when not on the Dining Plan. On trips that we do not purchase the Disney DIning Plan, we tend to order an appetizer for the family and share entrees which helps to keep our costs down. We also bring breakfast and snack items from home to minimize our overall dining expenses.  I hope this information eases your mind. Please don't hesitate to write me back if you have any additional questions. Best wishes for a magical trip, Kristin!
    Happy Planning,
