Howdy Stephanie, and thanks for visiting us at planDisney! You’re in for a rootin’ tootin’ good time at
Fort Wilderness, one of my favorite places at Disney World. I love this peaceful retreat that’s just a short boat ride away from Magic Kingdom. And the cabins are such a fun and unique place to stay!
I’d recommend talking to a Cast Member about your specific situation when you check in, but in my experience, Fort Wilderness will make sure you and your luggage have a way to get to the Outpost in time for your ride to the airport! Even when the internal buses are running, you don’t need to bring your luggage on the bus because Bell Services will always transport your bags to and from your cabin. For instance, you can call them using the phone in the bedroom when you’re ready to leave.
During this time of year, many fellow Fort Wilderness guests decorate their campsites for the holiday season. So my family loves to rent a
golf cart, book a
carriage ride, or simply walk around the different campground loops to get in the Christmas spirit.
Tri-Circle-D Ranch also has holiday decorations, and it’s always fun to visit the horses that you might recognize from the parades and
Main Street Vehicles in Magic Kingdom!
Some of our other Fort Wilderness must-dos are
mobile ordering from
Trail’s End Restaurant and eating on our cabin’s patio, watching the
Electrical Water Pageant from the beach, and attending
Chip ’n’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long. It’s such a fun night with roasting marshmallows, live music, and dancing with our favorite mischievous chipmunks! And they usually play a Disney movie afterwards if you’re not ready to head back to your cabin yet.
I hope you have the most magical stay at Fort Wilderness next month! And if you have any other questions, you’re always welcome back at planDisney.
