When using LL single pass along with the rider swap service in the parks, is it necessary to purchase the LL single pass for all members of the party, even if they will go through LL anyways as the second parent riding? I’m trying to save money if I can.

Hi Jennifer, welcome back to planDisney! I’m so happy you’re here, and how exciting that you’re in the middle of planning a Walt Disney World vacation. I truly believe that dreaming, researching, and mapping out your plans is half the fun, from picking your resort and dining spots to counting down the days until you arrive. You’re already off to a magical start!

I’m so glad you’re considering Lightning Lane passes for your trip! It’s such a great way to make the most of your time in the parks by allowing you to skip the longer standby lines and enjoy more attractions. When purchasing a Lightning Lane Single Pass, every Guest who will be riding the attraction needs their own pass, even if you’re using Rider Switch. For example, if two adults in your party plan to ride, both must purchase a Lightning Lane Single Pass. I hope this clears up any questions you might have!

Just as a reminder, if you’re staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you can purchase Lightning Lane passes up to seven days before your check-in date, starting at 7:00 AM Eastern Time through the My Disney Experience app. For Guests staying off property, Lightning Lane passes can be purchased starting three days before each day you plan to visit the park. Planning your selections in advance gives you a better chance of getting the rides and experiences you’re most excited about, helping your park days run more smoothly and enjoyably.

Jennifer, I hope this helps as you continue planning your trip! If any other questions come up, you’re always welcome here at planDisney!

    Happy Planning,
