Ahoy, James! I am glad you cruised by planDisney as you are planning one of my favorite activities: arriving at Port Canaveral to embark on a
Disney Cruise Line adventure!
Using
Disney transportation from Orlando International Airport to the port makes getting to your ship a breeze. One of the best benefits of this service is that you add your Disney Cruise Line luggage tags to your suitcases right before you board the bus, and your bags
automagically appear by your stateroom door on the ship later that day. Just make sure you have a carry-on bag with all your essentials, including
required travel documents, medications, sunscreen, and anything else you will need during the day.
I like getting the earliest Port Arrival Time possible. When I drive to the port, this means I stay up until midnight as my
pre-arrival online check-in process opens. I make sure I have pictures of our passports and security photos ready on my phone so I am not waking my kids up in the middle of the night to get a headshot. With Disney Cruise transportation, you still complete the online check-in but are not vying for a Port Arrival Time. You can complete this when you have some free time, knowing that your Port Arrival Time is when the bus pulls up at the port.
Using Disney transportation does not guarantee an early boarding time, but since most buses leave early in the morning, Guests generally are among the first boarding groups. Spaces on the bus do fill up, so I encourage you to call and purchase your seats as soon as you decide.
If you arrive the day before your cruise, you can also add a
hotel stay at the Hyatt inside the airport. In addition to the magical convenience, the number of restaurants outside your door makes for a fun, relaxing night before your cruise.
If you have any other planning questions, James, sail back by
planDisney. We're all aboard to help!
