what do i need for online check in?

Ahoy, Leslie! I am so happy to welcome you to planDisney and aboard Disney Cruise Line! If you are getting ready for the online check-in, your vacation must be on the horizon.

Completing the online check-in is not only exciting because your cruise is close, but it is also when you get your port arrival time. The day you can complete the check-in is based on your Castaway Club level:

    • Pearl: 40 days before your sail date
    • Platinum: 38 days before your sail date
    • Gold: 35 days before your sail date
    • Silver: 33 days before your sail date
    • First-time cruisers: 30 days before sail date
When your window opens, go to "Online Check-In" under "Already Booked." You will need contact information, an emergency contact, travel plans for your arrival and departure, a credit card for onboard charges, photos of citizenship documentation and headshots for each person in your stateroom.

I like the earliest port arrival time possible, so I check in at midnight as soon as my window opens. Before the kids go to bed, I make sure I have everything gathered and ready. The photos must be of each person alone, shoulders up, with a neutral background, and face visible (no hats, sunglasses or other glasses that block the eyes). The travel documents must also be clear. We cruise with passports, and getting a photo without a glare sometimes takes a few tries.

Once you complete the process, your status will be "pending." It may stay pending until a few days before your cruise. Hakuna Matata! Cast Members review them based on cruise departure dates. If there are any issues with your document photos, they can also update these at the port. Since you need your citizenship documents at the port, I set them aside so I know where to find them when I pack.

At the end of the process, you can print your port arrival form or add it to your digital wallet. I do both, but the digital code on my phone has always worked without issue.

Leslie, I hope it's clear skies ahead for the most magical ship that has ever sailed! If we can help with any other questions, please come back to planDisney. We're happy to help!

    Bon Voyage!
