Hi Julie, welcome aboard! From one Ohioan to another, I'm happy to have you here and excited that you're getting ready to set sail on my favorite type of vacation: A
Disney Cruise Line adventure at sea!
Each time we cruise out of Port Canaveral, my family and I always add on at least a few days prior to our cruise at one of the
Walt Disney World Resorts, and a few days in the parks too! It's a wonderful way to add even more Disney magic to our adventures: a true
land and sea vacation! I'm glad to hear your family will be doing the same!
Since you've already pre-booked your
optional Disney Cruise Line Ground Transfers from your Disney Resort to Port Canaveral for your cruise, you're all set! The night prior to the sailing, you'll receive a note in your resort room letting you know all the details for pick up the next day. Typically, pick ups are between 11:00 and 1:00, but it varies based on how many other guests are setting sail with you and which resorts they're enjoying the night prior. You will need to leave your checked luggage tagged with Disney Cruise Line luggage tags, and ready inside your resort room door by 8:00 a.m. that morning. They'll be picked up (no need to be in the room) and you'll see them later that day at your stateroom onboard. Just keep any day bags with you and you'll be ready!
Disney Cruise Line's motorcoach takes just over an hour to get from the Disney Resorts to Port Canaveral, but the time passes quickly with fun Disney Cruise Line videos, classic Disney cartoons and trivia on the onboard screen to keep you occupied. There is a small bathroom in the back of the motorcoach, but it's tiny, so I'd suggest using the restroom at
Caribbean Beach Resort's lobby just before getting onboard. However, it's there one the bus should your niece need it!
Have so much fun as you count down to the big sail date, Julie! Please stop back again if you have more questions before you head out to sea with Captain Mickey and his crew! We're happy to help!
