Hiya Rachel,
Welcome back to planDisney. I love how you think! We cannot wait to get the fun started when we arrive at
Walt Disney World Resort, so the last thing we want to do is wait for our room and deal with our luggage.
I am so glad you plan on utilizing
Direct-to-Room Service for your selected
Disney Resorts Collection hotel. By completing a few easy steps before your arrival, you will have the ease of bypassing the Front Desk and heading directly to your resort room. On the day of your arrival, you will want to keep an eye on your
My Disney Experience app for updates. Once your room is ready, your
My Disney Experience app will display your room number and let you know that you are now able to open your room door using either the app on your phone or an active
MagicBand+.
Plus, even more good news - if you happen to arrive before your room is ready, you can absolutely leave your luggage at your resort and head to a theme park or
Disney Springs to start making magical memories. If you are arriving prior to the Bell Services team (typically 7am EST), you can leave your luggage with the Cast Members at the Front Desk. After 7am, simply drop your bags off with Bell Services and they will be happy to store these for you until your resort room is ready. They will also be happy to drop the luggage off in your room once it is available. When I drop my bags off, I simply let the Bell Services team know if I will be picking up the bags myself or asking that they bring them to my room so they know my preference. It is such a convenient option knowing our pajamas and toothbrushes will be waiting for us no matter what time we return from our first day of adventures.
Don't forget - Bell Services will also be happy to store your luggage on your departure day if you have time for one more ride on
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind before you head back to the airport. I hope this helps get you on your way as quick as Lightning McQueen. If you have any additional questions, please stop back and
see me.
T-T-F-N (Ta-Ta for now),
Margaret
