Hi, Jennifer! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks so stopping by with your question. I am so glad to see you are planning ahead for your use of the
Disney Dining Plan. If your plan includes Table Service meals, be sure to make
Advance Dining Reservations as it is often difficult to find a place to dine on-the-spot. In my experience, I have had great success with securing a spot at some really great Table Service dining locations in the days before I plan to visit, as guests often change their plans in that final week.
Walt Disney World Resort is really great at building menus at each dining location that suit a wide variety of tastes.Your 12-year-old should order from the regular adult menu since you are paying the adult-priced version of the plan for him. However, if he sees something on the kids' menu that he would rather enjoy, he is welcome to order it. Please note that while his order could come from the kids' menu, an adult meal entitlement will still be deducted from your account for his order. Also, if you plan to dine at an all-you-care-to-eat, buffet, or character meal dining location, an adult meal entitlement will again be used to pay for the 12-year-old's meal.
I hope this information helps you plan your upcoming vacation, Jennifer! Please let us know if you have any other questions before you head to the Most Magical Place on Earth.
