Hei Hei, Jackie!
Welcome Home and welcome to planDisney! How exciting that your upcoming vacation to
Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa is just on the horizon. I was just there in August, Jackie, and there's no place I'd rather be than riding the Hawaiian roller coaster ride at Aulani!
Jackie, the
Aulani app is a great feature to keep up to date on all that Aulani has to offer. My favorite feature is the Daily 'Iwa, which keeps you up to date on character visits, activities, and events so my 'ohana is sure not to miss anything!
I had a look at my own Aulani app, Jackie, and mine keeps me signed in and uses face recognition technology to auto-log me in. However, in chatting with some of my fellow planDisney panelists, sometimes they have had this same challenge you are describing on the
My Disney Experience app. My fellow panelist and friend,
Amy A., who is also very knowledgeable about technology has a few suggestions which may help.
First, she recommends ensuring both your Aulani app is the most up-to-date version and that your cellphone has all recent security updates installed. Amy suggests having application updates turned on automatically for the Aulani app in your primary phone settings, as this ensures you have the latest features and bug fixes for it to run optimally.
Then, follow these steps (which are the same for the Aulani app as they are for My Disney Experience or the Disneyland Resort app, as they are all connected to your Disney account.) One thing to note, Jackie, is that it's important to mention that these steps may help solve the log-in. However, on occasion, you will be logged out to protect your account. This is because there is secure information located in your Disney account across all brands of the Disney company, including personal and financial information, so it's critical to keep this information secure. Additionally, there are occasions when settings on your phone may not keep you logged in or allow for face recognition log-in. But let's try this to see if it helps:
1. Open the Aulani app, and look for the "hamburger" or the three horizontal lines in the bottom right corner. Click on it and you'll see a "sign-out" button in an oval. Click on that to ensure you are signed out.
2. Then, click the Home button (looks like a house). You will see a "sign in" button under the map at the top of the app. Click on that.
3. Enter your email address, and it should refresh to say you already have an account. But, before entering your password, toggle the switch to Use Face ID. After successfully entering your password, the app should recognize your Face ID moving forward.
I hope this helps you, Jackie! I know technology is just like Tamatoa. While it is very shiny, sometimes it can cause a bit of trouble. But hopefully, these steps will help you go far on your adventure to Aulani. If you have any further questions, Jackie, surf back here to see me and I'll be glad to help you. We are your vacation planning 'ohana, and that means nobody gets left behind.
A Hui Hou (it means "until we meet again" in Hawaiian,)
