The My Disney Experience App is specific to planning and enjoying a vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort, but your login credentials are with one core Disney account. This Disney account is used across all brands of the Disney family, such as Disney Cruise Line, Disney Vacation Club, shopDisney, and even Disney+. It’s critical to keep this information secure, so the app may prompt a login verification periodically or triggered by certain actions requiring your credit card information (such as dining reservations). Your Disney account contains personal, secure information such as your home address, family and friends’ information, payment details, and more personally identifying information that you wouldn’t want easily available to someone else on your phone.
I can definitely understand wanting to make the use of the app easier, even if the login prompts are for your safety. Yes, the app does allow Face ID so here is how you can enable that:
- Open the My Disney Experience App
- In the bottom tray, click the three horizontal lines button for the main menu
- Scroll down to the last item and select Sign Out
- In the bottom tray, click the Home button (looks like a house)
- At the top section of that home page, click the Sign In button under Disney Account
- Enter your email address, and it should refresh to say you already have an account
- Before entering your password, toggle the switch to Use Face ID
- After successfully entering your password, the app should recognize your Face ID moving forward
Once enabled, that Face ID should quickly allow for movement throughout the app with a brief camera scan of your image rather than manually entering your password each time. I have this feature enabled and it makes using the app more seamless while giving me peace of mind that my information is secure when navigating among personal information and making vacation plans.
Please be sure you have application updates turned on automatically for My Disney Experience in your primary phone settings so that you always have the latest features and bug fixes for optimal performance.
