We are using our Apple Watches as MagicBands — how do we link them, and can each watch under one reservation have a separate payment method?

Hi there, Elizabeth! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with your question!

Using your Apple Watch as your MagicBand is such a smart and convenient option, especially when you want to avoid those classic MagicBand tan lines (we’ve all been there)! Disney’s MagicMobile Service, available through the My Disney Experience app, lets you use your Apple Watch or iPhone for theme park entry, Lightning Lane access, and more. It’s almost like having a MagicBand right on your wrist!

    To set it up:
        1.    Open the My Disney Experience app on your iPhone.
        2.    Tap the menu (the three lines in the bottom right corner).
        3.    Scroll to “Disney MagicMobile” and tap “Set Up Your Pass.”
        4.    Follow the prompts to add your pass (and those of any managed Guests) to your Apple Wallet.
        5.    Once added, your MagicMobile pass will automatically sync to your paired Apple Watch.

Now, for payments: You can use Apple Pay on your Apple Watch at most retail and dining locations throughout Walt Disney World, just like anywhere else Apple Pay is accepted. But here’s the key detail...if you want to charge purchases back to your Disney Resort hotel room, you’ll need to use a MagicBand, Key to the World card, or the My Disney Experience app on your smartphone. MagicMobile passes (on your Apple Watch) do not support charging to your hotel folio.

If your party wants to use different payment methods for charges to the hotel room, a Cast Member at the front desk can assist you when you check in. The My Disney Experience app only allows one payment method for the entire room during online check-in, but a friendly Cast Member can help divide those charges among multiple cards if needed.

One last tip: I recommend picking up a complimentary Key to the World Card at the front desk even if you’re using your Apple Watch just in case your device runs low on battery. And while you can’t unlock your resort room door with your Apple Watch, you can use your smartphone with Bluetooth enabled and the My Disney Experience app for that magical tap-to-open moment!

I hope this helps everything go smoothly for your visit, Elizabeth. Wishing you a pixie-dusted adventure filled with magic!!

    See ya real soon,
    Eean
