I used to be able to buy the 10-day park hopper w/ NO EXPIRATION. Two wks ago, it was still an option to buy w/ NO EXPIRATION; however, today I went online and it says that I must call Disney to purchase the non expiring option -- why the change???

    Hi Susan,

I'm actually a little surprised to hear you say that you saw the no expiration option available online recently. I wonder if you were looking at an independent ticket reseller's website rather than Disney's site. To the best of my knowledge, Disney removed the no expire ticket option from its website more than a year ago, when they started to implement many of the new technologies related to MagicBands and My Disney Experience. The no expire add-on is still available, but it must be purchased in person (or possibly over the phone).

It's actually very easy to add the no expire option while you're at the parks. Just stop by any ticket window, guest relations office, or resort concierge desk. They'll simply charge you the difference between the base price that you paid and the no expiration ticket price. No additional fees will be involved and it will only take a minute or two.

Also, by adding the no expiration option on site, you'll be extra sure that you will really need it, possibly saving yourself hundreds of dollars if you don't. For example, I was once at WDW while a blizzard struck the Northeast. Every flight back to NY was cancelled for days. We ended up extending our stay at WDW and using more ticket days than planned. If I had purchased the no expiration option for that ticket in advance, the extra expense would have been a waste. While we had not planned to fully use those tickets, circumstances proved otherwise. Similarly, it can often make sense to wait to add the Park Hopper or Water Park Fun add-on until you're on site.

The Moms Panelists are not privy to the rationale behind most of the answers to "why" type questions. We're park guests just like you, so unfortunately we can only speculate about the reasons for the change.

Please let us know if you have additional questions. We're happy to help.
