The good news is that you can upgrade your room if the resort hotel and/or room type that you want is available, even if it’s part of a vacation package. If you booked it directly through Disney World, you can make the change yourself on the website.
Go to
My Plans, find your resort hotel reservation, and press the Change Reservation button. On the next page, click the Change link either next to your Resort (if you’d like to switch to a different resort) or Room Type (if you’d like to upgrade to a different type of room within the same resort). Alternatively, you can call the
Tickets and Hotel Reservations phone number, and a Cast Member can assist with adjusting your booking.
If you’re staying at a
Disney resort hotel, don’t forget about the many magical
perks that start even before you arrive! As a Disney resort hotel guest, you can reserve
dining and
Enchanting Extras 60 days ahead of check-in for your entire stay (up to 10 days). This is helpful for getting those hard-to-get character meals, like my favorite, breakfast with Mickey and friends at
Topolino’s Terrace! You can also purchase
Lightning Lane Passes seven days before check-in for your whole stay (up to 14 days). Popular Lightning Lane selections, like
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and
Slinky Dog Dash, go quickly, so this gives you a better chance at snagging them.
When you're at Disney World, you'll even get to spend more time in the theme parks! With
Early Theme Park Entry, you can get into all four theme parks up to 30 minutes before regular park opening. My family loves this jump start to our day, especially when we’re trying to get in as much as possible before nap time! If you’re staying at a Deluxe Resort hotel or Deluxe villa, you’ll also get access to
Extended Evening Theme Park Hours on select nights. Staying up late in the parks always feels extra special!
