Hey there, hi there, ho there, Connie,
I’m happy to extend a warm welcome to you from all of us here at planDisney! Thanks for bringing your
Walt Disney World Resort question to us.
It sounds like you are making the most out of being a Florida resident “Mousketeer!” There are so many
perks and special offers for Florida residents, and you will discover even more as an
Annual Passholder. I confirmed with a helpful Cast Member that you can upgrade your
Disney Summer Magic ticket to an Annual Pass. There are
a few things to keep in mind, Connie. The Disney Summer Magic ticket can only be upgraded if there is at least one unused day remaining on the ticket. The credit you will receive for your upgrade will be calculated on a pro-rated basis depending on the days you have remaining on your Disney Summer Magic Ticket. So, the ticket value that is remaining on your unused days can be credited towards the upgrade. Also, there may be some limitations on which Annual Pass you are eligible to upgrade to based on the days you have used your current ticket. And finally, your Annual Pass will expire one year from the first day the original theme park ticket was used, not the day you upgrade.
Since there are some
intricacies to upgrading your ticket, I recommend that you make the upgrade in person with a Cast Member at the
Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs. These Cast Members are experts with this sort of transaction. Plus, you can stop off and do a little shopping at
World of Disney® to prepare for your next park visit!
Connie, be sure to link your new Annual Pass to your
My Disney Experience account so that special Annual Passholder perks will auto-magically appear when you are searching for special event tickets or
Enchanting Extras, and of course, for your shopping trips.
I hope this information is helpful to you and that you are on your way to some Passholder magic soon! If you have other questions or you would like more tips on how to make the most of your annual pass, write back; I’m here to help!
Wishing you many magical memories,
Shannon
