Can I upgrade a Disneyland package to a Magic Key?

Welcome back to planDisney, Beth! As a fellow Magic Key holder, I know how exciting it is when new passes become available, and I’m thrilled to help you get ready to join the Magic Key family!

Upgrading your theme park ticket to a Magic Key pass is a breeze, and you’re in luck! Both the Inspire Key and the Believe Key are currently available for purchase. To upgrade, start by downloading the Disneyland app and making sure your ticket is linked to your MyDisney account. Once that’s done, tap the (≡) icon on the lower-right corner of the screen, then select “Tickets and Passes.” If your ticket is eligible for an upgrade, you’ll see an option to start the process right there in the app. Just a heads-up: fully used, partially used, and expired tickets typically aren’t eligible for upgrade. Also, Magic Key availability is limited, and passes may not always be offered for purchase or upgrade, so it’s best to act quickly when your preferred pass is available!

You’ve picked a spectacular time to upgrade, because the holidays at the Disneyland Resort are truly something special. At Disneyland Park, Sleeping Beauty Castle dazzles with sparkling icicles and shimmering lights during the enchanting Wintertime Enchantment moments. In Fantasyland, the façade of “it’s a small world” transforms into a technicolor wonderland for it’s a small world holiday, where children from around the globe share heartwarming seasonal traditions. It’s a holiday highlight that always makes me smile!

Meanwhile, over at Disney California Adventure, the Festival of the Holidays fills the park with music, dance, and delicious bites inspired by global winter celebrations. Buena Vista Street glows with nostalgic, vintage-style décor, and in Radiator Springs, Cars Land goes all-in on its “haul-iday” theme. Don’t miss the festive overlays on Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters and Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree.

And here’s a Q-Tip to add some extra holiday sparkle: spend at least one evening on Main Street, U.S.A. to catch A Christmas Fantasy Parade, enjoy the snowfall, and watch Believe… in Holiday Magic light up the sky with fireworks and festive cheer.

I hope this helps you plan the merriest visit possible, Beth! If you have more questions, feel free to cruise back to planDisney. We’re always happy to help.

Wishing you a season full of magic,
    David
