Good news, Melissa. Depending on the type of theme park ticket you have and its value, you may be able to upgrade to a Magic Key pass. Former
panelist extraordinaire Melinda shared her experience with this last year. You should be able to apply the value of your ticket (subject to eligibility) towards the down payment for your Magic Key pass. If the value of the ticket is less than the cost of the down payment, you will be required to pay the difference upfront. Next, the difference between the value of your ticket and the cost of the Magic Key you'd like to purchase will be split over the remaining months the pass is valid.
You can reach out to a friendly Cast Member at the phone line for
Magic Key holders and they can break everything down for you according to your specific situation, including when your first payment will be due. Keep in mind that you'll need to complete the upgrade before the end of the last day of your ticket. The start day of your Magic Key pass will also backdate to the first day you used your theme park ticket.
