Hey there, Hi there, Ho there, Kaitlin! Welcome to planDisney and thank you for trusting us to answer your question.
Upgrading your ticket to an annual pass is a fabulous idea! I have found that even as someone who lives out of state, I utilize enough days visiting Walt Disney World in a year to warrant the cost of an
annual pass.
Once you have entered any of the four Walt Disney World theme parks, you have “activated” your current ticket. As long as there is at least one day left on any ticket, you should be able to upgrade to an Annual Pass and pay the price difference between your current ticket and the Annual Pass cost. To do this, simply visit any Guest Relations window at a theme park or at Disney Springs. I have found the shortest lines to usually be at EPCOT’s International Gateway entrance.
The Cast Member there will be able to tell you the cost difference, although I would imagine you will have an idea of that before you even go to the window. You can even pay the rest of the Annual Pass cost with a Disney Gift Card! So, to prepare for this, you can purchase Disney Gift Cards at a local store (possibly for a slight discount). Then, combine the cards into one larger amount on the
Disney Gift Card website. I do this to pay for all of my Disney vacations, and since I purchase my cards with a 5% discount, I get $50 extra for every $1000.
Have a magical trip back to Walt Disney World!
Happy Traveling,
Tracy
