Hiya Kim,
Welcome to planDisney! Thank you for visiting us for help with your upcoming vacation. For the last few years, I have been making it a tradition to visit Walt Disney World Resort in February. It is my birthday month, and nothing is more magical than a sprinkle of Disney magic on your birthday. I also love
EPCOT International Festival of the Arts and the fact that it gets a little chilly at night, so it's always a win/win/win for me to visit in February.
Kim, I hope that you will be upgrading your resort hotel stay and not cancelling. Either way, you will be happy to know that you can modify your resort reservation for any reason. If it is within the
cancellation window, you will receive a refund back to your original form of payment. Something similar happened to me a little over a year ago, and I received my deposit back to my
Disney Gift Card within a week (the Cast Member I spoke to advised it can take up to 10 business days). Just make sure to keep the empty gift card in a safe place, just in case.
I hope this was helpful, Kim. Before I let you go, as someone who always uses Disney Gift Cards for as many things as possible, let me share a quick tip. If you haven't already, register your Disney Gift Card on the website. If, for some reason, you cannot locate the card, having it registered will enable you to transfer the balance from the missing card onto a new one. Trust me, it is a lifesaver! Please come back and see us if you need anything else.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
