Welcome to planDisney, Sheri! Spring has sprung, and Easter is right around the corner at Walt Disney World Resort. Let's
hop into some details!
I spoke with Guest Services today, and they confirmed that
Disney's Contemporary Resort will host an Easter Sunday Catholic Mass at 8:00 AM in the Fantasia Ballroom. Reservations and/or registration are not required to attend, but I suggest getting there "eggs-tra" early, as spots do fill up. If you're not a guest staying at the resort or don't have a dining reservation, you won't be able to park at the Contemporary to attend the services, so plan accordingly. After Mass, consider making Easter Brunch reservations at the hotel's
Steakhouse 71 restaurant- I highly recommend Walt's Prime Rib Hash!
The Grand Cottage at
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is brand new this year, and it is just a monorail ride away! The cottage is located in the lobby and will sell Easter treats, including hot cross buns. The Grand Floridan's pastry chefs have also created "eggs-travagantly" detailed chocolate Easter egg displays, and I think it's worth scheduling a stop here.
If you are hoping to see Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny, you can find them in
Magic Kingdom Park. The cute bunny couple will be dressed in their Sunday best, and often a Disney PhotoPass photographer is available for pictures. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the Azalea Trail Maids will return this year in the Easter pre-parade before the
Festival of Fantasy Parade. They are a Walt Disney World Easter Sunday tradition!
I hope your trip is blooming with fun, Sheri! See ya real soon!
