EPCOT's Luminous fireworks show... it was such a cool experience! Your trip will be here very soon, so let's get those bands updated and ready to go, so you don't miss a moment of magic!
When you first receive a new MagicBand+, it often requires that you update it. Your first step will be making sure your band is linked to the appropriate guest in My Disney Experience. I have found that I needed to have my band attached to its USB charger while running the update. Once those two things are good to go, you can initiate the update process from inside the
My Disney Experience app! From the home screen, select the "≡" menu on the lower right corner, scroll down to Account - Magic Bands & Cards. Select the guest, select the MagicBand+ you are wanting to update, and you'll then see "MagicBand+ Updates". On that same line it will either have an "Up to Date" message, or an "Update" button to click. Make sure your band stays close to your phone during this process, it shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes. If you run into any issues, here are a few

Pack your chargers, so you can plug your MagicBand+ in each night of your vacation at Disney World! Don't worry if they aren't fully charged, the RFID chip inside will still work for theme park admission, room entry, Lightning Lane pass tap-in, and merchandise charges (similar to the previous version of MagicBand). It's just an extra dose of pixie-dust when then are able to light up and vibrate at fun, unexpected moments throughout the parks!
