Hi Katherine!
I remember receiving my own Mr. Potato Head for Christmas, many years before the first
Toy Story film. His popularity has only increased over the past 25 years when the world was introduced to the fun and mayhem of the
Toy Story gang. Whether being an adoptive father to the Pizza Planet Aliens, going on a quest to save Woody from Al of Al’s Toy Barn, driving through the store aisle with Tour Guide Barbie (“I’m a married spud, I’m a married spud!”) or packing his angry eyes, Mr. Potato Head is a fan favorite.
When my boys were little we loved the experience of packing as many Mr. Potato Head accessories as we could into that box. Something is exciting about figuring out how many little things you could possibly get to take home with you. Who could pack the most? Who could find the most interesting item? Every Potato Head needs a Mickey Pretzel to hold or a pirate hat to wear! I was fascinated by the variety and creativity of the accessories.
While this was a popular souvenir and activity, at this time, I haven’t heard of any plans of it returning to either
Disney Springs or
Toy Story Land. If it did make a comeback, I would expect to see an announcement on the
Disney Parks Blog, so I would recommend checking there from time to time.
Till then, we shall simply have to hope it makes a comeback.
Wishing you all the best, to infinity and beyond!
