My upcoming trip starts on site at a Disney hotel, but we are moving to stay off Disney property mid vacation. Will I be able to make dining reservations for the entire duration of our vacation 60 days from the start, or just for the part on property?

Greetings to you, Joelle, and welcome to planDisney!

Oh boy, I hope you are having fun planning your upcoming vacation to the Disneyland Resort! You're going to be here during one of the most beautiful times of the year: the Holiday Season! Each of the Hotels and Parks will be festively decorated to celebrate the time of year, so grab yourself a cup of hot cocoa and let's get to your dining reservations.

I'm happy to report that you will be able to make dining reservations for the entire length of your visit, Joelle. Dining reservations become available 60 days in advance for guests staying both on and off property. They tend to go fast, so be sure to secure your plans as early as possible! Unlike Walt Disney World, where you can make your dining reservations for your entire length of stay beginning 60 days from arrival, here at the Disneyland Resort, you will have to check daily for dining reservations at 60 days before each day of your visit. You will also be asked to use a credit card to secure your reservation and there is a fee if you do not show, so be sure to cancel any reservation you do not intend to keep. This may easily be done in the Disneyland Mobile App.

During your stay on property, be sure to check out the centerpiece display at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa! The Disney bakers outdo themselves every year with the gingerbread display in the Grand Lobby! I would recommend following the Disney Parks Blog for any upcoming Holiday announcements as well. And if you get the chance, do NOT miss trying a Mickey Gingerbread Cookie!

Joelle, I hope that answer was helpful for you and that you have a wonderful and magical visit to the Happiest Place on Earth! If there are any further planning questions you would like to ask, please reach out again to me or any of my pals on the panel!

Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
