For our upcoming trip in Sept, I bought my kids (10, 8, & 5) each a drawstring backpack & water canteen w/ shoulder straps, & wanted one of those "Buxton Bags" for myself. Are any or all of these permitted on rides & attractions?

I must admit that I had to Google "Buxton Bags" because I had never heard that term, but now that I see photos online, I can tell you that you'll be fine to take any of the things you mention on the WDW attractions. For most of the rides, you can just put your bags on the vehicle seat next to you. There are a very few rides where you'll want to make sure that the children's bags are properly secured (Space Mountain, Expedition Everest, Big Thunder, etc.) This could be done by having the children wear the backpack on their front (make sure the lap bar is tight) or by putting the pack on the floor of the ride vehicle with a foot through the straps.
