Hi Greylen,
Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney! Your question reminded me of a quote from one of my favorite movies,
The Princess Diaries. In the movie, Queen Clarisse Renaldi (played by
Disney Legend Julie Andrews) says, “A queen is never late. Everyone else is simply early.” Now, that just means your friend is arriving precisely on time, and you are starting your Disney vacation early, and there is nothing wrong with that!
If you are not staying at a Disney Resort or other eligible hotel, you can
purchase your Lightning Lane Passes 3 days in advance. If you have a date-based theme park ticket, you can purchase your Lightning Lanes for the total number of valid admission days on your tickets. If you have Annual Passes or tickets that are not date-based, you will purchase your Lightning Lane Passes 3 days before each park visit. So, this means that when you purchase your Lightning Lanes your friend will not be eligible to make their selections yet. Once your friend purchases their Lightning Lane Passes, you can go into your My Disney Experience and
modify your selections.
In the My Disney Experience app click the ≡ in the bottom right and select the Lightning Lane Passes tile. Your Lightning Lane selections will appear on this page. You can select the pass you’d like to modify and follow the prompts to change the attraction, entry time, or party. You may need to modify your times to be closer to the Lightning Lane times your friend has booked. Lightning Lane availability changes as other Guests modify their plans, so keep checking for times that work best for your party.
I hope this was helpful, Greylen. Have a great vacation in Walt Disney World! If you have any more questions, please come see us again at
planDisney. Now imagine me
practicing my princess wave with Julie Andrews as I say, “Thank you for being here today!”
