I have an upcoming trip in august (YAY) and while I was doing my check in online, I noticed they are not offering the "Service My Way" option to decline housekeeping and receive a gift card? I can decline it, but it does not offer a gift card

    Abby,

    Thanks for your question!

And yes, YAY for a trip to Walt Disney World!

Because of recent events, the way that housekeeping interacts with you and your room has changed. I found this post on the Disney Parks Blog that showcases some of those changes that I think you may find interesting. One point that I found most applicable to your question was that Disney will be offering a light cleaning service every other day of your stay, which they say includes removal of trash and replenishment of towels and amenities. It does not speak directly to the "Service My Way" program, but with service moving from daily to every other day, it could be something that is temporarily unavailable.

I did also contact Disney for you to ask the question. They said that the program was available until the recent closing, but at this time they have not determined if the program will become available upon the re-opening of the resorts. They did indicate that you would have to go to the front desk to request the program when you visit in August, but they could not guarantee that it would still be active.

I will say that Disney's enhanced cleaning efforts in the resort, as well as the wonderful contact-free solutions that the My Disney Experience App, Online Check-In and MagicBands offer, I feel great about how they are taking care of me and my family on our upcoming trip.

So the good news is that you are going to Walt Disney World! You may not have that program available to you on this trip, but you can relax with confidence that Disney is making sure your resort hotel stay is as safe and magical as ever!

    Have a Magical Vacation!
