Hi there, we have an upcoming stay and have bought tickets with the Florida resident discount. We also have magic bands. Will we need to check in at the hotel to verify our residence in order to activate the bands/tickets before heading to the park?

    Hi Bruce,

Welcome to planDisney! I'm thrilled that you have taken advantage of the special ticket offer for Florida residents this spring and will be enjoying the magic of a Walt Disney World vacation in just a few short days.

To activate your tickets, each member of your party 18 and older will need to show proof of Florida residency. You can do this at your resort, at the Welcome Center at Disney Springs or at a ticket window at the entrance of any of the four theme parks.

The process is quick and easy. Simply show a Florida drivers license, state ID card or Florida-based military ID. (If you don't have those, there are other methods to verify residency.)

On the day you will check into your resort, even if your room won't be ready until later in the day, you are welcome to go there first and use the complimentary Disney transportation to the theme parks.

Or you can drive to your chosen theme park and enter the standard parking area free because your resort reservation begins that day. Make sure your resort stay and your MagicBands are linked to your My Disney Experience account. Then all you will need to do is present your MagicBand at the parking entrance to waive the fee.

April is a beautiful time at the Walt Disney World theme parks. Don't miss the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival, which is in bloom through June 1. I think the topiaries are especially stunning this year.

Thanks for stopping by with your question, Bruce. Please let us know if you have any other last-minute questions.

    Enjoy,

    Wilma
