In our upcoming Sept. vacation we are taking the Keys to the Kingdom tour. Since we can't take our cameras, what can we do about having our cameras for later without going back to our resort to pick them up? Can we rent a locker before the tour?

I took the Backstage Magic tour in January. This is similar to the Keys to the Kingdom tour in that you are escorted into behind the scenes "backstage" areas of the parks. I was told (both by the reservationist and by my tour guide) that I could not take photos during the backstage portions of my tour, but I was not told that I could not have a camera with me.

I did in fact, have my camera with me and did take pictures during the "on stage" parts of the tour that were in public areas. Of the 20 people on my tour, almost all of us had cameras with us. And the few that didn't bring their cameras did have cell phones with photo capabilities. None of us were asked to leave these behind. Again, we were asked not to take pictures in backstage areas, but we were not required to be completely camera-free. I strongly suspect that this will be the case with your tour as well.

Most of the time, the tour guides will arrive a few minutes before the tour starts. If you arrive early too, you can confirm this with them before things get going. If your guide really wants you to have no cameras on hand, then yes, there are lockers near the entrance to the Magic Kingdom. In early 2008, the rental cost for small lockers was $10.00 per day, with a $5.00 rebate upon key return.

The backstage tours are truly special and a real treat for any Disney fan. I'm sure you'll have a great time.
