What are the upcoming refurbishment dates for the water parks in 2020?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Laura!

Spending part of your Walt Disney World Resort vacation splashing around Disney's Water Parks is such a fun way to cool off!  I love both the relaxed tropical vibe of Disney's Typhoon Lagoon and the fun, ski resort theme of Disney's Blizzard Beach.

Currently Disney's Blizzard Beach is closed for refurbishment through January 12, 2020.  When it reopens on January 13, Disney's Typhoon Lagoon will then take its turn for refurbishment, reopening on March 29, 2020.

Although we don't yet have park hours or a refurbishment schedule for next fall, I can tell you that during the warmer summer months, both water parks are open daily (weather permitting).  Usually as the cooler fall months roll around, one park will close for refurbishment sometime in October, with the other remaining open.  In late December or early January they will switch, with the second park closing through mid-March.  For the past several years, Disney's Blizzard Beach has taken its annual refurbishment turn first.  When Blizzard Beach closed for refurbishment this year on September 8, 2019, that was the earliest in the season I have seen it close.  Keep your eye on the park hours calendar for updates, or check the calendar icon on each water park's web page.

No matter which of Disney's Water Parks you might visit, be sure to indulge in a Sand Pail sundae, complete with a shovel for scooping!

I hope that helps!  Please stop by the Moms Panel again with any additional questions you may have as you plan your Walt Disney World Resort vacation.  Enjoy your stay!
