Ahoy Giovanna!
Welcome to planDisney. I'm so glad you sailed by with this question in advance of your voyage. I'd be happy to assist!
I love the
cash-free convenience of
Disney Cruise Line vacations. No coins or bills to fumble with as we make purchases in the
shops, and no need to even carry our wallets as we enjoy different areas of the ship. We simply present our Key to the World Card to seamlessly complete our transactions. Though I try to keep an eye on our stateroom folio during our sailings, I'll admit I haven't paid very close attention to exactly when those charges were applied to the credit card linked to our Onboard account prior to disembarking.
I reached out to a
Disney Cruise Line Crew Member for additional assistance, and they shared that the amount and timing of charges applied to your card will depend on the length of your particular voyage. At this time, your associated credit or debit card will be billed each time your stateroom folio reaches $300.00 on sailings between 2 to 5 nights. If you are on a 6 to 9-night cruise, the card will be billed each time your account reaches a balance of $500.00. I did notice that Disney Cruise Line recommends using a credit card instead of a debit card so I also inquired about any temporary holds. The Crew Member I spoke with mentioned that they will sometimes place a $1.00 hold just to verify the card.
You are welcome to stop by the
Guest Services Desk during your sailing to review your transactions and ask any additional questions. They'll be more than happy to help!
I hope this puts you at ease as you make final preparations for your cruise. If we can help with anything else please don't hesitate to sail right on back and let us know.
Bon Voyage!
Amy
