Greetings, Ethel.
See that line where the sky meets Cinderella Castle? It's calling you, and in less than a month you'll be answering that call on your vacation to The Most Magical Place on Earth. Not only will you get to experience the EARidescent excitement of
The World's Most Magical Celebration, but you'll also be here during the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. There's so much to look forward to! Have you started counting down the days yet?
Thank you stopping by planDisney with this excellent question. I would be happy to help and am sorry you've had such a frustrating experience finding
dining reservations for your upcoming trip. April is historically a busy month at Walt Disney World Resort, and between the Easter holiday and Spring Break crowds, dining availability can be scarce. Please don't give up hope yet though! Plans change all the time, so there is a good chance reservations will start to materialize the closer you get to your trip. I've had excellent luck snagging dining reservations up to the day of by frequently checking for availability. In fact, on our last trip in January, I was able to secure a coveted dinner reservation at
'Ohana just a few hours ahead of the time slot.
When you check for dining availability in your
My Disney Experience app, make sure you click on every single time option given under the "Search By Time" prompt. Oftentimes, reservations that did not appear initially will pop up out of nowhere. I tend to have more luck with these "phantom reservations" appearing via the mobile app rather than searching via a browser. Try searching once or twice a day leading up to your trip. Be consistent and flexible.
If you still aren't able to secure dining reservations for the days you need, you can utilize the same-day
Mobile Dine Walk-up Availability feature. On the home screen in your My Disney Experience app, click the plus sign and select "Check Dining Availability." Input your party size and select the current day's date. Under "Search by Time," click "Now." Any restaurants with Walk-Up List availability will appear along with an estimated wait time. You can select a time, then head towards that restaurant and wait for your table to be ready. I had success utilizing this feature on my trip in January as well by checking frequently.
Ethel, if it's easier, you can also call Disney Dining at (407) 939-3463 and have a friendly Cast Member help you search for dining reservations. I hope you are able to secure the dining reservations you're after. Please stop by planDisney if we can be of further assistance. We're all EARs and ready to help any way we can.
Have a magical day,
Alyssa
