How do you unlink a band from the Disney world account? Once a band is deactivated how do you reactivate it for a future trip?

Hi Sandra! Welcome to planDisney. I also have needed to switch my MagicBand+ when visiting both the Disneyland Resort and the Walt Disney World Resort. I am happy to help guide you through the unlinking of the band from one account and activating it for another.

If you'd like to deactivate your band, open the My Disney Experience app and tap the "☰" menu in the lower-right corner. Select "MagicBands & Cards," then choose the MagicBand+ you'd like to manage. From there, you'll see the option to deactivate it. This is a great option if your band has been misplaced or if you simply won't be using it for a while.

To manage your MagicBand+, open the Disneyland app and tap the menu button in the lower-right corner of the screen. From there, select "MagicBand+." Choose the band you'd like to manage, making sure you're selecting the MagicBand+ itself rather than the ticket or Magic Key it's linked to. If you've deactivated your band, you'll see the option to reactivate it. Just follow the prompts, and once the process is complete, your MagicBand+ will be ready to use again for your next Disneyland adventure.

Once that’s done, your MagicBand+ should be ready to go for everything from park entry to those fun interactive moments around the resort (like lighting effects in Haunted Mansion or bounty hunting in Batuu, which adds a little extra adventure to your day).

I hope this helps answer your question, Sandra! Before long, you'll be tapping into the parks and making more magical memories at the Happiest Place on Earth. If any other questions come up as you prepare for your visit, please stop by planDisney again. We're always happy to help!

    Wishing you a magical visit!
