Anabella from Barcelona Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Hello, I understand tickets are nonrefundable, but in case plans change and the dates need to be modified, do they have an expiration date?

Welcome to planDisney, Anabella. I know plans can shift as schedules change, and I’m happy to share some helpful information on your options if that happens.

Although Disneyland Resort tickets are non-refundable, there’s a silver lining: most standard theme park tickets remain valid for up to 16 months from the date they were first purchased. That gives you a nice cushion of time to choose new travel dates when things settle. To double-check your ticket’s expiration, you can either look back at the confirmation email from your original purchase or view it directly in the Disneyland app. Just open the app, tap the ☰ icon in the lower right corner, and select “Tickets and Passes” to see your linked ticket and its details.

If your ticket does happen to expire without being used, don’t worry! There’s still a great option available. Disneyland allows you to apply the value of an unused, expired ticket toward a brand-new ticket of equal or greater value. It’s a great way to hold on to the magic even if your plans take an unexpected turn. For help with this, I recommend giving the Disneyland Tickets line a call. A friendly Cast Member can go over your ticket’s status and help you decide the best next step.

Now, here’s something to look forward to: your potential visit falls during Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort, which begins August 22! The entire resort transforms with spellbinding touches: Main Street, lined with grinning jack-o'-lanterns, and Buena Vista Street is bathed in the haunting glow of purple lights. You’ll even find a giant Mickey pumpkin smiling at Guests near the entrance of Disneyland. It’s practically a fall tradition in itself.

One of my favorite seasonal offerings is the Día de los Muertos display in Frontierland. With its colorful ofrenda, glowing candles, and a trio of skeletal mariachi musicians, the area becomes even more beautiful in the evening light. It's a lovely tribute to family and memory.

I hope this brings you both peace of mind and a little Halloween-season excitement, Anabella. If you have any more questions or need help planning your return visit, we’re always here at planDisney and happy to help.

Wishing you a bit of autumn magic,

    David
