I understand that some rides are closed due to the Mickey's Mix Magic with Fireworks. Howewver, on MTuWTh, the nighttime entertainment is Mickey's Mix Magic with PROJECTION. Does this mean the rides will stay open during this projection event?

Welcome back to planDisney, J! I’m so glad we on the panel have been able to assist with your trips to the Disneyland Resort. We’re always delighted to help you have the best visit possible!

As you know, Mickey’s Mix Magic is a high-energy celebration, and on select nights, it gets an extra dose of pixie dust with fireworks. When the show is presented as a “projections-only” experience, some areas of the park may still be temporarily closed for the safety of guests and Cast Members. For example, parts of Fantasyland and Mickey's Toontown may remain inaccessible during the show. However, the decision is always at the discretion of Cast Members, with guest safety as the top priority. That said, most lands and attractions typically remain open for you to keep the magic going!

I have a Q-Tip for you, J: After Mickey’s Mix Magic, make your way to Toontown once it has reopened. At night, the land truly sparkles as the neon lights bring the whimsical world of Toons to life. I love strolling by the fountain, soaking in the playful music and the vibrant atmosphere. Plus, there’s something extra special about seeing the marquee for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway glowing in the night, like an open invitation to one last zany adventure. My wife and I have made it a tradition to end our Disneyland days aboard this ride, and let me tell you, it’s the perfect grand finale!

Also, if you decide to watch Mickey’s Mix Magic, you’re in for a treat. DJ Mickey cranks up the volume while Sleeping Beauty Castle, the façade of “it’s a small world,” and Main Street, U.S.A. each offer a unique view of the dazzling projections. Personally, I’d recommend Main Street for the most immersive experience. There’s nothing quite like being surrounded by a joyful crowd, all singing along to the dance remix of “Let It Go” at the top of their lungs!

I hope this information helps, J. We at planDisney are always ready and happy to help you make the most magical memories!

    Have a fantastic day!
