Hi - I understand that it is quite a walk to some of the rooms (where we will be staying). Is there any kind of service provided to get people and items to the rooms without the long walk? Golf cart service or something of that nature?

Hi Cindy! Thanks for joining us at planDisney!

You're in for such an exciting time when you join the fun at The Most Magical Place on Earth!  I bet you're knee-deep in planning right now, deciding on which characters to dine with, how to get to and from the Resorts to the Parks and mapping out your daily itinerary of which rides and attractions are most important to you.  Even if you're not doing ANY of this you're sure to have a practically perfect time at Walt Disney World Resort!

I've stayed in many Disney Resorts Collections hotels in my many years of visiting the Resort and I have to say I've never been anything less than happy with every room I've been given.  Like you, I once read that some rooms were far away from the main buildings in a Resort my family and I were planning to stay in.  However, when we arrived at our Little Mermaid room at Disney's Art of Animation Resort, we were so surprised at how convenient everything actually was, and even my 3-year-old made the "trek" many times a day without issue.

While I don't know which Resort you are staying at I will let you know that some Resorts, such as Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside do have multiple bus stops around the Resort so that you're able to board and disembark at whichever stop is closest to your Guest room door.

You also always have the option to book or upgrade your reservation to a Preferred Room.  A preferred room basically means that you will be in a Guest room that is nearby the most important locations of the Resort, such as the main transportation station, dining areas, and even the main pool.

Cindy, I know thinking about all the walking may be daunting, but after the miles you'll put on making your way around the Parks, the walk back to your room should be a breeze!  I highly suggest taking a midday break for a nap and a swim so that you can rest and recharge for your evening in the Parks!  Make sure to spend at least two nights staying up "late" so you can catch Disney's newest nighttime shows, Disney Enchantment and Harmonious.  I promise they'll wake you up and keep you singing all night long!

    Happy planning!

When we're not taking in the enchanting experiences of the parks, we're home in Massachusetts, probably planning our next trip! Learn More About Ashley
