    I understand you can’t add a Disney gift card to a wristband. Can you add a regular Visa preloaded gift card?

    Thank you for visiting planDisney, we, just like you are a Disney-loving group of Guests representing all walks of life. And we are here to help guide you through your planning questions and curiouser and curiouser inquiries. 

    Guests staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel have the convenience of linking only a credit card or debit card to their MagicBands, for charging privileges. And when it comes time to make a purchase or pay for a service simply tap your MagicBand to the touch point and enter a 4-digit PIN you have chosen for security protection at the time of your online check-in.  A charge is then applied to your room bill and Guests can use their Disney Gift Cards or preloaded Visa card to pay down their bill. Disney Resort Collection hotels allow Guests to charge up to a certain amount before charging the credit card or debit card on file and if you wish to use a gift card I recommend visiting the Front Desk each day to pay down the daily accumulated amount. 

    As you continue to plan, stay up to date by following the Disney Parks Blog, here you can learn about the new Disney MagicMobile service and its Coming Soon- Charging Privileges. This new service is accessed through your My Disney Experience mobile app and allows Guests to make a digital pass on their Apple device (coming soon to Android devices). The Disney MagicMobile service currently allows Guests, via their digital wallet, to easily access their Walt Disney World tickets, connect Disney PhotoPass Photos to their My Disney Experience and scan for access to the  Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance virtual queue. This new service is ever-evolving and I am excited to see what the future brings for Disney MagicMobile.
