Is it uncommon for DW guests to stay at more than one resort? I'd like to stay 2 nights at WL and 3 nights at AKL. This is our families first, and most likely only, WDW vacation and really want to allow our kids a magical experience.

    Hi Linda,

How amazing to be planning your family's first Disney World trip, and hopefully it won't be the last.

I am not sure if common is the right word for resort hopping during your Disney vacation, but I can tell you we do it often. We very rarely spend our entire Disney World vacation at the same resort, and for some time I thought we were the only ones that did that. I am happy to report that I have now learned from my fellow Moms and numerous guests we, that many choose to move throughout their stay.

We love so many of the Disney resorts and have a hard time deciding which one to stay at. Even when we know we will be back again, we can't resist moving from location to location for a variety of Disney fun. You have selected two fantastic properties and both have a very different feel to them. The Wilderness Lodge has the warm feel of a cozy cabin tucked away in the Northern woods, and is just a short boat ride from Magic Kingdom. The Animal Kingdom Lodge feels like you have stumbled upon the plains of Africa. The amazing view of the animals on can be enjoyed from almost every spot in the resort and there is a fantastic overview area from the back of the resort. The resort is just minutes from the Animal Kingdom park and has a very peaceful secluded feel to it.

You will find it very easy to transfer resorts, as you are able to ask Bell Services to transport your bags to your new resort for you. Simply check out of your resort and head over to your second stay to check-in. It's that easy! I think you will be very happy with the two separate experiences and the ease of this option.

Hope you have a magical stay!
