How do I unclaim a confirmation number? I accidentally claimed my travel companion’s and I am now listed twice (listed as being in my room and in his) and he is not listed at all. He cannot claim his reservation number because I claimed it accidentally.

Welcome to planDisney and I am happy to help guide you down the rabbit hole of this curiouser and curiouser reservation conundrum. From what I gather you accidentally linked your friend’s confirmation number to your My Disney Experience and now somehow your name is included in his reservation? If this is the case, I wish I could wave a magic wand and give you a simple quick fix but it’s a little more intensive.

I recommend calling (407) 939-1936 and speaking to a Cast Member. Assuming you already have a My Disney Experience account make sure your friend has set up a My Disney Experience account as well. Have both reservation numbers ready and who is to be included in which party. Pick a day in which you have time on your side and one in which you will not be late for an important date. Cast Members are experiencing high call volume and wait times are on the long side. Phone lines open at 7:00 a.m.  I recommend rising early one morning, brewing a spot or pot of coffee, dialing the number and sitting back with a book or show or whatever and enjoy the wait. A Cast Member will be able to access your reservations and put you on the right path.

If you need any further assistance, with your Walt Disney World vacation, feel free to ask. Stay up to date by following the Disney Parks Blog and check out our Panel Extras for more vacation tips.

May your upcoming stay be filled with many magical and memorable moments.

Meet the Panelist: Amy, Virginia

I am a Dreamer who has always believed dreams are meant to be the path to your future. Walt Disney, I believe, felt the same way, "All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them." Disney has always been proof that endless imagination and the passion to make them come to fruition is possible. I will never be to old for Disney, it is home to all of us Dreamers.
