Hey there, Anjelica! Welcome to planDisney!
I just recently made
dining reservations for my family of 6 for our upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation, so I completely understand the dilemma you are having! It is sometimes difficult to find an available reservation for all six of us, so I end up splitting our group into two parties. As you have found, the online reservation system won't let you make two reservations at the same time under your name. Here's the trick: when booking the first reservation for your party, assign someone else in your
Family & Friends List as the primary Reservation Contact. You may then select the names of additional Guests so they can see the reservation under their plans in their own
My Disney Experience account, or you can choose to leave this part blank, especially if you are managing everyone's plans under your account. Then when you make a reservation for the second group, you can assign yourself as the Reservation Contact for that reservation. I'll also book reservations this way if some of us have decided to dine in different locations.
I had a hard time finding a table for 6 at
Space 220 Lounge, so I ended up making reservations for 3 parties of 2, assigning my husband and adult daughter as the Reservation Contacts before listing myself as the contact on the third reservation. When you arrive at your dining location, let the Cast Member at the host stand know your party is split on multiple reservations. They will do their best to seat you at the same table or nearby tables, depending on restaurant capacity at the time. Sometimes we do end up being seated separately, which is understandable since that is how our reservations were booked. A little time apart can sometimes be a good thing on a family vacation!
I usually have good luck finding a reservation for a larger party at
Boma - Flavors of Africa at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. There are quite a few larger tables there, and the food is absolutely delicious!
I hope that helps! Please stop by and see us again if you have any additional questions. Bon Appetit!
